Dollar Tree Receives a Hold from Barclays

Barclays analyst Karen Short reiterated a Hold rating on Dollar Tree (NASDAQ: DLTR) yesterday and set a price target of $84. The company’s shares opened today at $88.66.

According to, Short is a 3-star analyst with an average return of 2.8% and a 52.6% success rate. Short covers the Services sector, focusing on stocks such as Performance Food Group, The Chefs’ Warehouse, and United Natural Foods.

Currently, the analyst consensus on Dollar Tree is Moderate Buy and the average price target is $92.45, representing a 4.3% upside.

In a report issued on November 20, MKM Partners also maintained a Hold rating on the stock.

Based on Dollar Tree’s latest earnings report for the quarter ending October 31, the company posted quarterly revenue of $5 billion and quarterly net profit of $172 million. In comparison, last year the company earned revenue of $4.95 billion and had a net profit of $81.9 million.

Based on the recent corporate insider activity of 103 insiders, corporate insider sentiment is positive on the stock. This means that over the past quarter there has been an increase of insiders buying their shares of DLTR in relation to earlier this year. Last month, Thomas A. Saunders, a Director at DLTR bought 5,528 shares for a total of $89,001.
